Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God. Psalm 50:14 (NLT)
There is not much I can offer God that will adequately express my love for him. Any sacrifice I offer will most likely fall short of what he deserves. But I can offer him my thankfulness. This week, as you pray, pray giving thanks only; even in your requests. For example, when you want to pray for your children, try “Father God, thank you for my kids. I thank you in advance that you are going to help them through _______________ (fill in the blanks) and that you will draw them to you.” Or for your job. “Father God, thank you for the job you are going to find and for the people I will get to know and the blessings that this will bring.” Be creative, be joyful and as the thanks pour from your heart the incense of your prayers will be a pleasing sacrifice to God.
Father God, I praise and worship you – my heart overflows with thanks for the life you have given me. Thank you for accepting my words as a sacrifice and my heart as a gift. Thank you that even though they don’t come close to what you deserve, you accept them with love. Thank you for making today yours. In Jesus Name, Amen.
