Ask Anyway

… your Father knows what you need before you ask him. (Matthew 6:8 NIV)

This verse is an introduction to the Lord’s Prayer when Jesus taught the disciples how to pray.  Some people say, “If God already knows what I need, why do I need to ask Him?”  This is a good question.  Yes, God knows each of us, He knows our needs, our desires, our temptations, our very thoughts.  Why pray?  Prayer is a communication tool to spend time with our Creator.  We can tell him our concerns and desires.  We can cry on His shoulder.  It connects us with Him.  Telling Him your burdens will give you peace knowing that He will take care of them.  You will find rest in Him.
