Be Content

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5 NIV)

Be content with what you have.  That is a BIG statement.  I have a “to do list” of home projects such as replace the screens, replace the patio pavers, put a new floor in the kitchen and bathroom and a few other things.  Painting the bathroom was on the list but I was able to get it done last month.  It had been on the list for three years.  Yes, I would like all the things on my list to be completed but they take time and money of which I have very little to spare.  I have learned to be content with what I have.  I have learned, or should I say I am learning, to prioritize what is important.  I try to put God first.  I am thankful that He provides enough for food, clothing, shelter etc.  Money can’t buy what He provides, peace, joy, contentment, and a walk with God.  I love His promise “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”  That promise gives me contentment.  All the material things the world offers are not important.  His love and grace gives us contentment.
