Be Patient

Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. (James 5:7-8 NIV)

When you look at the evil in the world and all the pain and suffering people go through, do you long for heaven?  Some days I just can’t wait until Jesus returns and puts an end to all of the evil and restores the earth to its creation glory.  But then I think of all the people who don’t know Jesus and I praise God He is giving us more time to share His love that others may know Him.

You plant the seeds of the gospel but it doesn’t always take root immediately.  Be patient.  God is at work.  Some seeds take longer to germinate than others.  Keep planting the seeds of the gospel for as long as you can.  When the time is right, Jesus will return.
