To quote a famous movie, “Life IS like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.” You may have the day planned out perfectly, and then you have a flat tire. You may have spent hours getting ready for an event that was cancelled at the last minute. You bought tickets to a concert just to end up sick with the flu and have to miss out.
Yeah, these unforeseen circumstances put a damper on your day, and may even cost you some money, but as I tell my daughter…it is all part of the story. Her story…she took a few hours to get her makeup just right, the hairs in place, the high heels on, the ball dress fitting perfectly…just to walk outside and trip on the curb falling into a 6” inch deep pool of muddy water. Needless to say…she had a bad day. But to my surprise, she calls me to tell me about it laughing. She has learned to take the bad and embrace what it is, then make it her memory and her story to share with the world.
Poor girl! I felt so bad for her, but what can you do besides pick yourself up and go get changed. Embrace the chocolates.
Psalm 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
