I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20 NIV)
If we accept the atonement provided by Christ’s death upon the cross we are dead to sin and the world and all that it contains. Christ lives in us. Even though we are still physically in the world we are not of the world. When Christ lives in us we no longer want to do the things of the world that we used to do. We are “born again” and our desires are becoming what Christ would desire. We become more loving to those around us because we are in love with Christ and our character is being changed to be like Him.
