Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5 NIV
Have you really wanted something, then when you get it, you moved on to wanting something else? We are never satisfied. Hebrews says we should be content with what we have and not covet other things, especially what others have. This is referring to the Ten Commandments. The tenth commandment says:
“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” Exodus 20:17 NIV
God says He will never leave us or forsake us. In other words, everything we need, He will provide.
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21 NIV
