I’m always looking for healthy snacks for my kids that get them eating a variety of fruits and veggies. I absolutely love making them fresh fruit salsa because it incorporates so many colourful fruits that are just bursting with vitamins and nutrients. My kids also think this is a real treat because of the cinnamon “chips.” Here’s how you make this great snack.

Cinnamon Chips

What you’ll need:

  • 5-6 small flour tortillas (6 inch)
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • Cinnamon sugar
  • Pizza cutter or sharp kitchen knife

1. Preheat oven to 350°F

2. Brush some melted butter on one side of each of the flour tortillas.

3. Sprinkle each tortilla generously with cinnamon sugar.

4. Using your pizza cutter or knife, cut each tortillas into 8 equal pieces.

5. Place your small triangles on an ungreased baking sheet in a single layer.

6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until nice and crispy. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.

Fruit Salsa

What you’ll need:

  • A variety of fresh fruit, chopped—I used strawberries, peaches, kiwi and blackberries
  • A sprinkling of white sugar
  • A squirt of lime juice

1. Mix all the above ingredients in a large bowl until mixed completely.

To serve:

1. Place the tortilla chip triangles in a circle at the top of your plate.

2. Grab some fruit salsa and place in a small circle container – I used a silicone muffin cup.

3. Use a piece of celery for the flower stem.

This snack is delicious, and it’s definitely not just for kids. My husband and I thoroughly enjoy this little snack ourselves!
