Dead to Sin

Christ Lives in Me

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 NIV

Have you ever thought what it means to be crucified with Christ? Paul accepted Christ’s atonement for his sin on the cross. He considered himself dead to sin and the world. He didn’t need any man-devised methods of attaining righteousness. Even though Paul considered himself dead to sin, he was alive and living an active life for Christ.

The secret to living a successful Christian life is to invite Christ to live within us. The love of Christ will constrain us. His righteousness will become a reality in our life. We may still live in the world, but the world does not live in us because we have faith in the Son of God.

What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ–the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. I want to know Christ–yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, Philippians 3:8-10 NIV
