Depending on God

In you, LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in your righteousness. Psalms 31:1 NIV

We receive a sense of comfort and encouragement from today’s verse, especially during times of distress. It invites us to place our trust in God, knowing that He is a reliable refuge.

The reference to God’s righteousness reminds us to strive for righteousness in our lives. It encourages us to live in a way that reflects God’s character, trusting that He will deliver and protect those who follow His ways.

This verse models a form of prayer that combines trust, petition, and acknowledgment of God’s attributes. It teaches us how to approach God with our needs while affirming our faith in His righteous nature.
