Disgrace follows Pride

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. Proverbs 11:2 NIV

Pride is the foundation of sin. Ezekiel 28:11-19 says that Lucifer’s (Satan) downfall was his pride. He thought he was just as good as God and should have a higher position in heaven. The Bible doesn’t say, but what we know in how God works with humanity in helping us choose the right path, I am sure God worked with Lucifer to help him. Yet, Lucifer chooses to rebel against God. His disgrace came when he was asked to leave heaven (Revelation 12:7).

Pride keeps us from admitting that we are wrong. We often defend our pride. When we admit our wrongdoing and confess our sins, there are great stores of grace given to us. Be willing to submit to Christ, be humble, and learn heavenly wisdom.
