Do You Need A Timeout?

Start Your Day with Prayer

In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, “This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.” Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD, (Isaiah 38:1-2 NIV)

Hezekiah was just given devastating news.  What was the next thing he did?  He turned his face to the wall and prayed. To me, this is the equivalent of giving yourself a prayer time-out.  When life is not kind or becomes overwhelming, maybe instead of the activity we surround ourselves with it’d be good to give ourselves a prayer time-out. A moment to talk to God, spend some time reflecting on who He is and not our circumstances. Today, give yourself a time-out. It will positively adjust your thinking.
