Don’t Expect Repayment

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done. (Proverbs 19:17 NIV)

I knew someone once who said they gave loans to people with the intention that they did not expect repayment even though the person receiving the money promised to repay it.  When you loan someone money you expect it to be repaid but sometimes it never is, and it is concerning when you expected repayment.  Following my friend’s philosophy, you can give money to help a friend or someone in need and forget about expecting repayment.  It brings peace.  It is kind of like paying it forward.

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’  (Matthew 25:40 NIV)
