Don’t Worry About the Future

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34 NIV

What do you worry about? Will I have enough money to pay the rent/mortgage? Will my children go to college, get a good job, and marry the right person? The war in the Ukraine, Israel, and other places in the world. What about relationship problems at home and work? There are so many things we can worry about. Many are legitimate causes for worry.

How can we be free from worry? Trusting God. He was with us yesterday, He is with us today, and He will be with us tomorrow. Help does not come before it is needed. It will be there tomorrow when it is needed.

Here are some verses to meditate on when we are worried:

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 NIV

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 NIV
