In His grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. Romans 12:6-8 NLT
We have all been given gifts. My gifts may not be the same as your gift but that does not mean that one gift is better than another. Each gift is needed for the church for the harmony of the church members and to spread the Gospel. While some have received the gift of preaching or teaching, others have received the gift of administration therefore the two gifts work together to spread the Gospel. Some have received the gift of encouragement. This gift is essential for the church body when someone is overwhelmed and needs encouragement. We need to lift each other up. Sometimes life struggles hinder us but if there is someone who recognizes when we need those words of encouragement it gives us the strength to continue serving. Why not take a few moments and think of the spiritual gifts you have and how you can use them for your church.
