Free Gift

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV)

Do you like receiving gifts?  I do.  Gifts is one of the love languages of God. (read “The Love Languages of God” by Gary Chapman.)  A gift of eternal life is given to us freely, no strings attached.  All you have to do is accept it.  You don’t have to work for it.  It is free!  We have a difficult time accepting it because we think we don’t deserve it unless we work for it.  It would not be free if we had to work for it.  It is through faith that gives us the ability to accept it.  It is the grace and mercy of God that He sent His son to take our sins as the Lamb of God so that we may live with Him throughout all eternity.  Have you accepted God’s gift of eternal life?  If not, why not do it today.
