God’s Love and Ours

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7 NIV

Love comes from God. He is the source of love. Since we are loved by God and He is the source of love, then love should flow from us to others. Some people are very easy to love because they love us back. Then there are others that are difficult to love. Yet, we are to love everyone. How can we love those that we deem unlovable?

Praying for those that don’t fit into our love box will germinate into love for that person.  The more we learn about that person, the more understanding we have for them. Understanding turs into sympathy. Sympathy into love.

We can test how much we love the Lord by evaluating our love for others. Pray for grace to love others as Jesus loves them.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Matthew 5:43-45 NIV

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17 NIV

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 NIV
