Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NIV)
When the Israelites left Egypt, and was living in the wilderness, God asked Moses to build a tabernacle so that He may dwell among them. The tabernacle was placed in the middle of the camp. There was a pillar of fire that was above the Most Holy place of the tabernacle. God was in their midst. God is with us today. His Spirit dwells in our hearts. Our body is a dwelling place for God. Paul says we are to take care of our bodies because it is the temple of the Holy Spirit. We are to be careful of what we put in our bodies that may harm it. We are to be careful of what we see and hear that we may harm our mind. What comes out of our mouths reflects what is in us. Be careful today of what you see, hear, eat, do, and say. Remember, your body is the dwelling place or God’s Spirit.
