Have Confidence in Him

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 1 John 5:13-14 NIV

Because we believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the provider of eternal life, we can have confidence. What can we be confident in?

Assurance of Salvation: The passage starts with the assurance that those who believe in the name of the Son of God (Jesus Christ) can know that they have eternal life. This assurance is a central theme in John’s writings, emphasizing the confidence believers can have in their relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Confidence in Prayer: As believers, we can have confidence in approaching God in prayer. When we pray according to God’s will, He hears us. This highlights the importance of aligning our prayers with God’s purposes and desires.

We have assurance of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and the confidence we can have in approaching God in prayer. It encourages us to trust in God’s faithfulness and to align our prayers with His will.
