He Came to Us

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14 KJV)

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14 NKJV)

So the Word became human and made His home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. (John 1:14 NLT)

No matter how you say it, it’s awesome. Jesus, gave up a part of who he was and became less so we could become more. He traded some of his God-like traits and let’s face it, took a step backward, so we would eventually understand the unfathomable love that is poured upon us.

Father God, when I am tempted to wonder if you can reach me, help me to remember that Jesus became like us to reach us. I guess there isn’t much you won’t do to connect. Thank you, Jesus, for the ultimate demonstration of your love.  Amen.
