He Is All We Need

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

Yesterday I got word of a huge problem. I wish I could say that I immediately prayed and faced the problem with God at my side.  I didn’t. I panicked.  Wasn’t pretty. As I calmed down, I looked to God and worked out a plan. The plan isn’t at all what I want for this situation but it was the best solution – for now.  This morning during my worship, God provided this text.  I am saying God provided because I didn’t seek it out. (God has an amazing sense of humor.) I lingered over this text, took it apart, applied it to myself and this is the paraphrase I ended with.

And my God will supply (cram it in, fill it up to overflowing) every one of my needs from his abundance (of wealth, of love, of peace) not because I make great decisions or have outstanding faith but because Jesus loves me.

Father God, on the days we don’t think we can make it and we can’t see past ourselves, thank you for the reminders. Thank you for the continued conversation about your willingness and ability to provide. Thank you for being there.  We love you, Amen
