He Is Our God

“This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the LORD. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. (Jeremiah 31:33 NIV)

God’s Law. The Ten Commandments, summarized with the first five saying “Love the Lord your God with all your heart” and the next five saying “Love everyone else better than you love yourself.” God’s desire is not that these are just words written on stone but that they would be in our midst – smack dab in the center of everything we do. In order for them to be dominant in our lives, they need to be written on our hearts.  God wants his Laws of Love to become so second nature to his people that no words are needed to teach them. The message will be delivered through our actions.
