… “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. (Jeremiah 31:3 NIV)
Do you want to get to know God but aren’t sure how? Do you get stuck because you’ve been told all your life that you have to read your Bible and pray and maybe that’s hard for you? I think we overthink how we have to get to know God. We think it’s about what we do that makes the grade. God clearly says “I love you” and “I am reaching out to you in kindness.” The first step is his. The responsibility is God’s, not ours. Our part is to respond. God knows who you are. He has known you from the time you were being formed in your mother’s body. He’s going to draw you in a way that is comfortable to you. So, when you are drawn to praise God with music and dance, do it! When you are drawn to praise God by writing a prayer or a play or a poem, do it! When you feel impressed to read a book or your Bible, to walk through a park, or to perform an act of service, do it! God is so much bigger than the box we try to put him in. What he wants is your attention…..in whatever format you choose.
