Health Laws in the Bible

Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, Exodus 23:25 NIV

During the COVID pandemic in 2020, the world went into quarantine to try and stop the virus from spreading. Did you know that God instructed Moses on how to deal with an infectious disease? The Bible has a lot to say about health and how we can be healthy. God wants us to live a life that brings us joy and others. He has provided the earth with food in various forms for us and all life on earth. Here are a few of the health laws in the Bible. Take some time to read them. Many people think the laws in the Old Testament are relevant to us today. You will be surprised how wise our God is in providing them for us even today to give us good health. After all, God does not change. What He said in ancient times still applies to us today.

Keeping God’s health laws does not give us salvation, but it does help us live a healthy life so we may bring glory and honor to Him.

God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? Numbers 23:19 NIV

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17 NIV

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. Genesis 1:29 NIV

Here are a few of the laws of health.

Leviticus 11 – Meats to avoid

Leviticus 13 – quarantine

Deuteronomy 23:12-13 – sanitation

Look up “Health laws in the Bible” on the internet, and you will find many more in both the Old and New Testaments.
