Here I AM

“I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me. To a nation that did not call on my name, I said, ‘Here am I, here am I.’ (Isaiah 65:1 NIV)

In the days of Isaiah, the people blamed God for their problems and they accused him of not being present. Maybe it’s the same in our world today. I picture God jumping up and down saying ‘Here I am! Pick me! Pick me!  I have the answers to your problems.” But instead, we go off and try to fix it ourselves. God is always ready to respond to our call for help. He wants us to find him. He does everything to set up that encounter. He’s waiting for us to ask.
