Hiding the Word

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Psalms 119:11 NIV

Memorizing scripture is the best way to hide God’s Word in our hearts. If you are like me, you may find it difficult to memorize. I have always had the problem since grade school. People have come up with ways to put things into memory using different methods. Check out these memory tips and tricks from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have found what works for me is to read something over and over. Writing a verse out (or typing it) helps. It will take me several days to commit something to memory. I then have to review it often until it is firmly planted in my brain. Another method is to share the verse you are learning with someone. Let them know why you like the verse and what it means to you.

Whatever method you choose, memorizing scripture is good for your brain and soul!
