How do we know what sin is?

God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:20-21 NLT

God gave us His law so that we may have abundant life. It is a guide showing us the way to happiness. It is by God’s grace that when we fail to follow His law of love, He has abundant grace to forgive us and help us on the road to spiritual recovery. What an awesome God that would send His only begotten son to this world to take our penalty for breaking His laws so that we may have life eternal. Yes, we have an AWESOME God beyond measure!
