When you woke up this morning did you shout WOOHOOOO and jump out of bed? Maybe. Maybe not. Some days admittedly are not WOOHOOO days. David had a lot of those. Like the days Saul was throwing his javelin at his head. Or the day he told him he had to go cut off 100 of the enemy’s foreskins and bring them to him. Or maybe it wasn’t such a good day when Saul killed the priests and their families because they unknowingly helped David. Did he wake up each day dreading it? It doesn’t seem like it. Instead it seems like he faced each day knowing God was at his side and trusting that whatever he ordained was part of the plan. Maybe the next time we are privileged to wake up, we should remember that God is by our side and his plan is perfect. Then, before we get out of bed we can shout WOOOHOOO!
