How to Stop Grieving the Holy Spirit

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:30-32 NIV

Paul tells the Ephesians to not grieve the Holy Spirit of God. His advice applies to us today. Paul says what not to do and what to do.

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice

When we want to get rid of a bad habit, we need to replace it with a good habit. And that is what Paul is suggesting.

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

As we focus on good habits, the bad ones will disappear.
