Humble Thyself

“Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.” James 4:10

Humility is a trait that you do not find all that often. Many people think much too highly of themselves, for the world is full of people who glory in and exalt their talents. That is the way of the world and the path that it walks is filled with pride! The Child of God is called to walk in the Narrow Way, where the human pride is humbled! For the salvation of Jesus Christ is by grace, not of works, less any man should boast!

Humble in the Greek text is tapeinoo and it means to make low, to debase, to lower oneself, a person who is devoid of all arrogance and self-exaltation,  a person who willingly submits to the Lord! Our Heavenly Father has called us to die to self and to pride and to live in Christ Jesus alone!
