In the Beginning

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 NIV

In our world, everything has a beginning. We wonder where we came from. DNA tests tell us where our ancestors came from. Sometimes, we can search for records for our family tree. Maybe we have someone famous (or infamous) in our family tree. It is nice to know who is in our family tree and where they lived.

The Bible starts by telling us where we came from. As you read, you will discover why this world is not perfect as God originally created it. There are stories of family histories. The stories tell us about people who made bad decisions so that we can make better decisions in our lives. Fast-forward to Revelation and you will find how sin ends in our world and the beginning of a better world.

The most important theme in the whole Bible is Jesus. He is on every page from Genesis to Revelation. Because of Jesus, we have a better life waiting for us when He returns. Until that day, He is with us every step of our journey.
