Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; …” (Acts 1:6-8 NKJV)
Here is a group of people that witnessed Jesus resurrection. They are speaking face to face with a man who was dead but came back to life. They talked to him multiple times over the last 40 days. And the question they ask is “What about our kingdom? When is the time?” Jesus basically told them “Don’t worry about the time. That’s not your business. It’s God’s. What you can pay attention to is the Holy Spirit.” How about you? What questions about your kingdom are you asking God today? Instead, should you be paying attention to the Holy Spirit? Should you be listening to his voice. From the Holy Spirit we will learn what we need to know when we need to know it. The rest is God’s to know, not ours.
