Who is among you who [reverently] fears the Lord, who obeys the voice of His Servant, yet who walks in darkness and deep trouble and has no shining splendor [in his heart]? Let him rely on, trust in, and be confident in the name of the Lord, and let him lean upon and be supported by his God. Isaiah 50:10 (AMP)
I was talking to a friend about going through difficult times in life. She was sharing some of hers, I was sharing some of mine. During the conversation we got around to the idea of believing in God versus having a relationship with God. The Bible says even Satan believes in God. The Bible also says that to have eternal life you must know God (John 17:3) as in have a relationship with him. The text in Isaiah talks about this very thing. We can believe in God but not know him. God invites us to be in relationship with him. No matter what we walk through, that is always his goal. Rely on, trust in, lean on and let God hold you. Relationship.
