Jesus’ Great…Grandmothers

Judah the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar, Perez the father of Hezron, Hezron the father of Ram, Ram the father of Amminadab, Amminadab the father of Nahshon, Nahshon the father of Salmon, Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse, and Jesse the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah’s wife, Matthew 1:3-6 NIV

We all have a story how we have come to Jesus. We are all sinners but through Christ we receive His righteousness. In Jesus’ genealogy, four women are mentioned. I am not sure about Bathsheba, but the rest of the women were not descendants of Abraham. Jesus came to save the world. People of all nations are accepted in His kingdom. It makes no difference what you did in the past. He accepts everyone that comes to Him.

Tamar (Genesis 38:6-26)

Rahab (Jos 2:1-22, Jos 6:22-25; Heb 11:31; Jas 2:25,)

Ruth (Book of Ruth)

Uriah’s wife, Bathsheba (2 Samuel 11)

This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, Romans 3:22 NIV
