Jumping to Conclusions

The prudent keep their knowledge to themselves, but a fool’s heart blurts out folly. (Proverbs 12:23 NIV)

There are times when we should keep our mouth shut.  Often when I have overreacted to someone’s comment to me, I caused problems. Most of the time, I had jumped to incorrect conclusions.  Had I not said anything and just listened, I would have understood what the person was saying, and it was nothing like what I had thought.  Proverbs is right; when we blurt out before listening, we become a fool.
