Keep Calm

The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14 NIV)

A few months ago, I felt God was telling me to sell a house we had that was a rental. Selling would not be logical. Everything was fine with it; it was actually making a little money. Through some prayer and asking God to show us that this was him leading, my husband and I decided to sell. Through the process there were more downs than ups. We had people who said they would buy it and back out. At one point, our renter moved out with no notice and we started paying more than we had been before we decided to sell. I wish I could say I was strong in my faith but alas, when things started falling apart I faltered. I questioned God. I questioned whether I had heard him correctly. I questioned whether I should follow that still small voice in the future. After the dust settled, it became very apparent that all that had happened had to happen for the sale to work out perfectly – there are too many details to share here. As I look back on this, I realize just how involved God has been.  You see this impression to sell happened in April. At the end of May, the bottom fell out of some things and financially things became super tight. God has been providing but this sale will happen just in time to provide yet again. When I was thanking God for this (and asking him to continue to grow my faith), I wondered if there was a perfect text for how he fights for us.  Today I came across this one. Not only does God provide, he has an awesome sense of humor.

Father God, over and over again I come to know how amazing you are. Thank you for providing before I even knew I needed it. Amen
