Knowing is Not Enough

James 4:17

If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them. (James 4:17 NIV)

Knowing the truth is not enough.  We have to live it.  Knowing who Jesus is, is not enough.  We have to believe and follow.  Knowing right from wrong is not enough.  We have to do what is right.  Knowing but not doing shows that our religion is in vain.  A faith that relies only on knowledge proves false when it comes time to put faith into action.  Look at the man in Matthew 25:14-30 who did nothing with the money/talent he was given.  He knew his employer was a hard task master yet he did nothing to increase the value of what he was given.
