Light of the World

To the angel of the church of Ephesus write: He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands, says these things. (Revelation 2:1 MKJV)

Over the next few days we will look at the message Jesus gave to Ephesus in Revelation 2:1-7.  The message that was given 2,000 years ago also applies to us today.

Jesus starts His message to the Ephesian church saying He holds the seven stars in His right hand.  Revelation 1:20 says that the seven stars represents the angels or leaders of the seven churches listed in chapters 2 and 3.  Jesus is writing to the leaders of the church.  As leaders/teachers/parents we are to lead our members/students/family according to the words of Jesus.  Jesus says He is walking among the seven golden lampstands.  Verse 1:20 tells us the lampstands represents the seven churches.  The church is to be a light to the world. The church is not THE light; Jesus is the light.  We are to shine the light that Jesus gives to us.  Jesus walks among the lampstands.  He walks with us 24/7.  He is always by our side.
