The LORD will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. Psalms 34:22 NIV
All who chose to come to the LORD will be rejected. God is always calling and wooing us to come to Him. Regardless of our past, we are all accepted. He will not reject anyone. As we seek Him, He is seeking us. Though sometimes we don’t realize our need for Him, He knows what we seek. Only the LORD can fulfill our deepest desires. What is our deepest desire? It is the need to be loved. To be accepted. We want to feel that someone sees us as special. And we are special. The LORD sees each of us as special. He is like the father in the story of the prodigal son. The father is waiting and searching for his lost son to return home. We are all prodigals; we have all left home searching for something that we didn’t realize we already had available to us. Our Heavenly Father is waiting for us to return to Him. He is standing there with open arms waiting to embrace us. What a God we have that loves us and accepts us the way we are. He will place on us His robe of righteousness. Won’t you come home?
Even if we are already home, we should not be like the elder brother. Rejoice with our Heavenly Father when a prodigal son or daughter returns. See them as Christ sees them. He has placed His robe of righteousness on them. Their sins have been forgiven. They are not to be remembered anymore.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:17 NIV
