Nothing is Impossible with God

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said. (2 Chronicles 32:7-8 NIV)

King Hezekiah said this to his kingdom when they were being threatened by King Sennacherib of Assyria. King Sennacherib threatened to annihilate Jerusalem just as he had every nation before. Evaluating the situation and the chance of success, it would have seemed impossible to Hezekiah. Assyria was much bigger and badder than Jerusalem. Hezekiah and his people prayed and God stepped in. He (without any help from Hezekiah’s army) destroyed Sennacherib and his army. Sennacherib ran home defeated and humiliated. Often we look at a problem and it seems impossible and it is from our human perspective.  But to God nothing is impossible. When God moves all we have to know is “Problem solved.” And then, we give glory where it is due to the God who is the ultimate Problem Solver.
