Our Lamb

Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death–that is, the devil– and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants. For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. (Hebrews 2:14-17 NIV)

What did Jesus’ death do for us?  Jesus took man’s nature. Faced man’s temptations and was victorious.  He experienced the pain and suffering that we experience.  He understands what we are going through.  He gave Himself to become our lamb of sacrifice.  He made atonement for our sins.  He has freed us from the power of the devil.   He has done more for us than we can possibly imagine.  Praise the LORD!

Thank you, Jesus, for what you went through that we may have freedom from sin.  Thank you for the promise that one day sin will be destroyed and you will come and take us home with you to live throughout eternity.  We long for that day.  Thank YOU!  In the most precious name of Jesus we pray, amen.
