“I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed My word and did not deny Me. Revelation 3:8 NLT
The Open Door is symbolic for opportunity. Paul frequently used the term “open door” about opportunities he had to spread the Gospel (1 Corinthians 16:9; 2 Corinthians 2:12). He asked for the door to be opened to reach the Gentiles (Colossians 4:3). When he returned from one of his missionary trips, he testified that God had opened the door for him to spread the Gospel (Acts 14:27).
Jesus is the open door. He is the gate by which we can enter heaven (John 10:7, 10:9). Jesus has opened the door for each one of us to share the Gospel with others. Prayer is the open door that each of us can use to come before the throne of God. No one can ever shut the door that Jesus opens.
