Prayer for 2017

One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. (Psalms 27:4 NIV)

Ever find yourself thinking you are in a good place? Life is good. Everything is going as expected. You don’t need anything….except maybe that one thing….There always seems to be that one thing. We were created to be filled up. Problem is we try to fill ourselves up with things or people or well, you fill in the blank. When we go this route, it leaves us wanting. That’s because we were created to worship God. When we worship ourselves, we find life lacking. When we worship God we are full and content. Simple really. But then why does it seem so hard?

My prayer for us in 2017 is that we turn our focus from us to God; that we make sitting at his feet a priority. My prayer is that we fill up on his presence and his love. May 2017 find you focusing on God more.
