Promises for Difficult Times

… And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20 NLT)

The world we live in can be very stressful.  We may be experiencing health issues for ourselves or a loved one.  We may be stressed at work or loss of a job.  Our marriages may be causing us stress.  Sometimes it is just that we have more things that need to be done than what we have time.  Whatever is causing stress in our lives there are promises in the Bible that can help us reduce and even take away our stress.  Here are a few promises to meditate on.

Put your trust in God and He will remove your fear/stress.

But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. I praise God for what He has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me? (Psalms 56:3-4 NLT)

He is just a prayer away.  He hears and listens to our plea for help.

The LORD is close to all who call on Him, yes, to all who call on Him in truth. He grants the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cries for help and rescues them. (Psalms 145:18-19 NLT)

God supplies every need that we have plus some.  He is not far away and is waiting for us to come to Him.  His arms are stretched out waiting to embrace us. We are His children and He loves us so much.

“He is the God who made the world and everything in it. Since He is Lord of heaven and earth, He doesn’t live in man-made temples, and human hands can’t serve His needs—for He has no needs. He Himself gives life and breath to everything, and He satisfies every need. From one man He created all the nations throughout the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall, and He determined their boundaries. “His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward Him and find Him—though He is not far from any one of us. For in Him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are His offspring.’ (Acts 17:24-28 NLT)

God gives us the power to overcome anything that Satan throws our way.  He loves us and gives us peace of mind.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7 NIV)

Do not be discouraged.  God is on our side.  He will give us the strength to meet our challenges.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10 NIV)
