Receiving the Holy Spirit

“If you love Me, obey My commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. John 14:15-16 NLT

Jesus was preparing His disciples for His departure. He encouraged them to show their love for Him by keeping His commandments. Because they loved Him and followed Him, He would not leave them alone. The Holy Spirit would take His place. They would never be alone. This verse also applies to us. As followers of Jesus, we have the Holy Spirit to guide us. Jesus is always with us via the Holy Spirit.
