Refrain from Anger

Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret–it leads only to evil. (Psalms 37:8 NIV)

Have you been so upset you could just scream (or do worse)?  I have been there.  It just seemed like anger took over my life.  I could think of nothing else but some way to get even with the person that caused me so much distressed.  Anger can cause you to get out of control.  It can cause you to do things you would never dream of doing.  David gives us good advice to turn away from wrath because it only leads to evil.  We can turn our anger to the LORD and He can give us peace when others do things that upset us.

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. (James 1:19-20 NIV)
