Rejoice! Rejoice!

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! (Philippians 4:4 NIV)

Ever have one of those weeks where every day nothing went as planned? You get to Friday and think “It’s the end of the week!” only to remember that the weekend is packed with activities (even at church). Some days it’s hard to see past the ‘to do’ list to the moments God sends to bring us joy. Things like; a moment with a friend, even if it’s on the phone; the smile of a baby; tasks completed on a day of a hundred interruptions; small answers to prayer that made all the difference. If your week has been overwhelming, take a moment whether it is in a quick remembering of your favorite text, singing and dancing to a favorite song or a glance around to see where God is working to look up. Joy may not jump out at you right away, but it does tend to ease its way in when we look for it. –Elaine Kapentanakis
