Rejoicing During the Storm

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. (Romans 5:3-4 NLT)

I don’t know about you but I sometimes find it difficult to rejoice when I am going through a difficult time.  I can rejoice afterwards knowing that God was with me during the trial I was facing.  Paul says to rejoice while we are going through the storm.  It is like looking for the silver lining in the storm clouds.  It is knowing that at the end of the storm there will be a rainbow.

Paul says if we rejoice during the storm it will strengthen our faith.  Rejoice because we know that God was with us during the past storm and He will be with us in this storm.  Our faith and confidence in His saving grace will get us through the storm.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 NIV)
