Releasing Guilt

Finally, I confessed all my sins to You and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the LORD.” And You forgave me! All my guilt is gone. (Psalms 32:5 NLT)

Have you ever gone around with a heavy heart knowing that you did something that was not right?  You were too embarrassed to admit you messed up.  Did the guilt get heavier and heavier?  It may get to the point where it affects our relationships with others.  It puts a wedge in our relationship with God.  We don’t feel like praying because of the guilt.  David said the best way to remove the guilt is to confess it to the Lord and ask for forgiveness.  There is nothing too bad that God won’t forgive.  He will forgive and toss our sins in the depth of the sea.  What a relief we will feel when the heavy burden of guilt is lifted.

When you get a chance, read Psalms 32.
