Salvation Comes from the LORD

Arise, LORD! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people. (Psalms 3:7-8 NIV)

Salvation comes from the LORD.  David knows he cannot save himself.  He must rely on God.  The same is true for us today.  Our salvation comes from the LORD.

David then takes his focus off himself and asks for a blessing for the people.  When you are going through a difficult time it is good to take the focus off our troubles and intercede for those around us.  David desires that the same peace he has to be received by God’s people.  Going through difficulties gives us insight to what others may be going through that is similar to what we have experienced.  We can encourage them because we know that God was with us and He will be with.
